This Privacy Policy describes how HotChat collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our website and mobile applications (the "Service").

2. Data We Collect

  • Account data: email, username, profile details, and authentication identifiers.
  • Content data: posts, comments, images/uploads, reports, and moderation actions.
  • Profile data: optional bio, interests, and city/location text you provide.
  • Usage data: app interactions, pages/screens viewed, events, and timestamps.
  • Device and network data: IP address, browser/app version, device type, OS, language.

3. Permissions and Sensitive Access

  • Camera: used only when you choose to capture/upload photos.

Permissions are requested by the app runtime when needed for a feature. You can revoke permissions from device settings.

4. Tracking, Cookies, and Local Storage

We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies for:

  • Authentication and session management.
  • Security, abuse prevention, and fraud detection.
  • Performance monitoring and basic diagnostics.

We do not enable third-party advertising trackers by default. If analytics/attribution tools are added in the future, this Policy will be updated before rollout.

  • To provide and operate the Service.

  • To moderate content and enforce platform rules.
  • To secure the Service and investigate abuse.

  • Supabase (authentication, database, and related backend services).
  • Cloudflare (media/file storage and delivery components).
  • Platform providers (Google/Apple/device vendors) only for app runtime requirements.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We may share data with service providers that process data on our behalf and with authorities when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and platform integrity.

8. Storage and Retention

Data is stored on infrastructure operated by our service providers in regions selected by us. We retain data as long as needed for account operation, moderation, security, legal compliance, dispute resolution, and policy enforcement.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to:

  • Access, correct, or delete your data.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Request a copy of your personal data.
  • Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based.
